The ¡°Energy Options and Health Benefits: Beijing
Case¡± project assesses the potential impact of different energy
and environmental policies on pollutant emissions, CO2 reductions,
pollutant exposure, and health impacts in Beijing Urban area.
The study, coordinated by Chinese State Environment Protection
Administration (SEPA), USEPA and the National Renewable Energy
Laboratory (NREL), was carried out by Tsinghua University and
Peking University, School of Public Health.
The main Objectives of this meeting include: present
the methodologies and results of IES Beijing case study; discuss
how this study could be used to provide policy guidance to policymakers;
Policy makers provide perspectives on the relevance and usefulness
of the project for helping them to develop better policymaking;
and explores the opportunities for extension of the Beijing Project
and further collaboration.
